HEAT TREATING

We heat treat recycled and new pallets to meet the requirements for exporting to the United States and Internationally. Wood packaging materials from North America must be kiln-dried and free of bark, insect holes, living insects, and nematodes. All countries have specific regulations on wood packing materials.

We are fully certified and prepared to meet the compliance standards of the ISPM 15.

Heat Treat Process

To be suitable for international travel, wood packaging materials must be heat treated to kill off any insects or other pests. To prevent the migration of invasive species, the core of each individual piece of lumber must be heated to a minimum of 56 degrees C (133 degrees F) for at least 30 minutes. When that milestone is achieved, the lumber gets an Heat Treat stamp.
